Earth Day 2017

Posted: Friday 21st April 2017

This Saturday (22nd April) is officially Earth Day for 2017, and here at Cyan we will be getting into the spirit and celebrating the cause – and yes, we will all be suitably dressed in green!

Earth Day first started in 1970 and was mainly a US affair. Since then it has gone global and is celebrated by hundreds of countries worldwide, who take part in fund raising and promotional activities. Earth Day not only celebrates our planet, but also raises awareness and helps to educate on sustainability issues.

In light of our Earth Day celebrations, Cyan would like to offer our customers 20% off on environmentally sound clothing orders placed before the end of April 2017. Simply quote ‘EarthDay’ when placing your order – supporting the environment really doesn’t have to cost the earth!

Cyan offer many different environmentally friendly clothing brands, which are created using some of the following standards and labels:

GOTS (Global Organic Textiles Standard) – 100% organic cotton. This standard is to ensure the textiles are made using organic raw materials, and environmentally and socially responsible methods.

EU Eco-label  – The official EU label for Greener Products. Eco-labelled products must pass rigorous environmental tests. The label adorns top performing products only.

The Fairtrade Certification Mark is your independent guarantee that the cotton in this product has been certified in accordance with international Fairtrade Standards. Buying products made from Fairtrade Cotton ensures that the farmers receive a fair and stable price for their cotton.

SA8000 is based on the principles of international human rights. International workplace-quality standard based on the concept of social accountability, its major objective is to ensure application of ethical practices in hiring and treatment of employees and in production of goods and services.

The OEKO-Tex Standard – Evaluates and screens for any harmful substances present within processed textiles, which are intended to come into contact with consumers.

Don’t ignore your CRM or environmental policy statements – allow us to help you make the best sustainable choices for all your branded workwear or charity sporting / leisurewear.
